WHAT IS PEMPHIGUS PANEL TEST?

Pemphigus and pemphigoid are blistering autoimmune diseases of the skin and mucous membranes. Its cause is unknown, and it occurs in middle-age or older adults. Initial lesions are located in the mouth or on the scalp. After the blisters break, secondary infections may occur in the raw, eroded areas. Before the discovery of steroid therapy, the disease was fatal in 95% of cases. Pemphigus is an autoimmune disease, with cause unknown, in which the autoantibodies cause a separation of the epidermal cells, especially after even mild trauma to a specific area. The circulating IgG antibodies can be detected by indirect immunofluorescence. In addition, Desmoglein antibodies can be measured in clients with pemphigus and correlate with disease activity.
