WHAT IS LITHIUM TEST?

WHAT IS LITHIUM TEST?

Lithium is an alkali metal salt used as a mood stabilizer mostly in the treatment of the bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness) and shows promise in the treatment of cluster migraine headaches. This drug is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, has a half-life of 17-36 hours and an onset of 5-10 days, and is excreted in the urine. Lithium alters the sodium transport in nerve and muscle cells, which assists in stabilizing mood.
