WHAT IS COCAINE TEST?

Cocaine is a schedule II central nervous system stimulant, and a local anaesthetic used clinically for its bronchodilator and vasoconstrictor effects, which result in increased blood pressure, respiratory rate, and heart rate. It is readily absorbed through mucous membranes, detoxified in the liver, and excreted by the kidneys, and acts for 2 hours or less. Cocaine is also a drug of abuse, and street names for it include C, coke, crack, girl, lady, happy dust, gold dust, and stardust. Cocaine administration compromises the heart’s antioxidant defence system, and an overdose may lead to cardiopulmonary failure.
