BRAIN STEM HEMANGIOBLASTOMA
These are symptomatic in 18 % of patients, most often in the dorsal medulla and craniocervical junction (Filling-Katz et al. 1991). Supratentorial hemangioblastomas are rare. Many CNS hemangioblastomas detected by MRI scanning are asymptomatic. Though the detection of CNS Tumours is helpful in determining carrier status, surgery is usually only performed for symptomatic Tumours.
